A unique twist on traditional Southern biscuit recipes, bringing together the comforting, flaky texture of homemade biscuits and the juicy, luscious flavor of ripe peaches.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup peach butter
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix the buttermilk and melted butter together until well-blended. Gradually add this mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
Fold in the peach butter gently, ensuring it’s evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, drop generous portions of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-18 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
While the biscuits are baking, prepare the vanilla glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Once the biscuits are out of the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before drizzling with the vanilla glaze.
